Visual Identity for Clevedale Historic Inn & Gardens

Developed a timeless brand identity that captures the colonial architecture and southern hospitality of a historic Spartanburg estate.

The Challenge

Clevedale is a landmark property, but they lacked a cohesive visual mark that communicated their specific blend of history and high-end hospitality. They needed a logo that could represent the 1913 estate across physical signage and digital platforms while honoring the original character of the gardens and colonial architecture.

The Solution

We designed a custom emblem featuring a stylized illustration of the inn’s iconic facade and stylized floral accents to represent the property’s English gardens. The identity uses classic serif typography and a palette of warm yellows and deep blues to evoke a sense of heritage and professional service.

Clevedale Historic Inn & Gardens is a distinguished property in Spartanburg that required a visual identity as refined as the guest experience they provide. Our objective was to move away from generic branding and create a custom mark that reflects the inn’s 1913 colonial roots.

  • Architectural Symbolism: The central emblem features a stylized illustration of the inn’s facade, including its signature pillars and front porch, to immediately communicate its status as a historic estate.
  • Natural Elements: We incorporated delicate floral accents around the illustration to highlight the property’s gardens, which are a major draw for weddings and events.
  • Sophisticated Typography: A classic serif font was chosen to maintain a sense of timelessness and elegance across all marketing materials.

This new identity serves as the foundation for all of the inn’s physical and digital assets. Following the completion of this logo, we also applied this refreshed brand to a full-scale website redesign to ensure a consistent experience for guests from their first search to their eventual check-in. The final result is a professional brand system that helps Clevedale stand out in the competitive hospitality market.
