At Arrowhead Design Group, we know that athletic branding is about energy. For USC Union Athletics, the goal was to take the traditional Bantam heritage and inject it with a modern, “full-throttle” aesthetic. Recruits and fans alike connect with a brand that feels elite, and the new USCU Athletics identity was designed to deliver exactly that.
- Fierce Mascot Evolution: We reimagined the Bantam mascot to be both sleek and formidable. The new illustration captures a sense of movement and intensity that was missing from previous iterations.
- Varsity-Grade Typography: We paired the new mascot with bold, varsity-style lettering and introduced a standalone “U” icon. This gives the athletic department a flexible toolkit for everything from official uniforms to campus spirit wear.
- Digital and Physical Versatility: By refining the line weights and utilizing the classic USCU color palette, we ensured the logo maintains its “pop” across all platforms—whether it’s embroidered on a cap or featured in a high-def broadcast.
We are proud to have another successful collaboration with the USC Union 60th Anniversary and Alumni Association branding, providing the university with a cohesive visual language across both academic and athletic departments. A modern brand is a powerful tool for fundraising and recruitment, and the new Bantam identity gives USC Union Athletics the competitive edge they need to stand out in the division.
